It all started on September 18, 2002. That's when Amanda and I went on our first date.
We started with sushi at Cal Beach on Lido Isle. We then walked down the street to the theater and watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding. After that we finished off the evening with a walk to Le Bistro for coffee and dessert - Crème Brule and crêpe.
I didn't say much that night because I was so nervous - but things worked out.
As a matter of fact, the next day we played a joke on her mom who had set us up - we told her the night was a total disaster.
Five years later we were married and since that time we've debated long and hard about starting a family of our own. The idea of it scares the daylights out of both of us because a baby would be the biggest responsibility and commitment of our lives.
After 12 years of working on Amanda on and off, and wearing her down, we're finally doing it.
Let the games begin!
As everyone knows I'm pretty much always a little late to everything - and at 43 I'm late to this party too.
How about we play a game!
Start below by guessing if Baby Kirker will be a boy or a girl. What do you think? This is a single round elimination question. Get this wrong and you are out.
Hint: Use time pictures at the top for clues. (There really aren't any but they are fun to look at.)
Next, choose the date of birth. We've entered the projected birth date for you - January 9, 2015 - change this date at your own peril.
Next select the babies length and weight. Be nice - Amanda is a little thing.
Finally, choose the eye color, hair color (if any), hair style and the skin color. The last one's kind of a gimmie because our mail-lady is white, a little mature and not very hot. ;)
So play this little game with us and be part of our journey to parenthood.
We'll even let the winner of this contest choose the baby's name!!! Yea right... ;)
PS. I was a HOLY TERROR growing up and my mother had a pretty rough time with me. I'm hoping for a girl because if the kid is anything like me, it'll be a handful and a half. So don't choose boy to make me feel better!
Did you know?
In 13 weeks, Amanda has gained just 3 pounds since getting preggers. She's working out almost daily to make a healthy baby and keep healthy herself! (BTW 3 pounds is considered normal at this point.)
